After the sudden death of her partner and their cat in close succession, Jhana found herself lost in an abyss of grief. She began fostering kittens as a way to stay tethered to life. The responsibility of caring for these small lives was a saving grace. The cats became anchors, spirit guides, and a reason to meet each day.

But with new kittens came the need for cat furniture, and the market offered only cheap furniture that would become trash in a short time, was soulless and made her home cluttered and ugly, and felt insulting to the sacred role pets play in our lives. Visions began to form — cat furniture made with reverence, designed not just for function, but to honor the sacred bond between animals and humans. From that place of loss, and then the emergence of mutual devotion between Jhana and her new feline companions, Felis Fortuna was born — a rebellion against disposability, and a tribute to the creatures who walk beside us on our paths.
